My way of working ALWAYS reflects ultimately on your Relationship with You. As we work together, be open to gradually challenging the lies and judgements told to you by others and yourself. E.g. selfish, stupid, crazy, failure, not good enough … Be open (at your pace) to embracing a more authentic, freer, self-trusting and compassionate reality of who you REALLY are.
I incorporate mindfulness with clients who are open to it and work from a ‘spiritual’ (not religious) stance using my instincts as well as learned schools of thought. Often, I employ well timed and appropriate sense of humour which clients report – assist them in feeling more at ease within the alliance. I am MYSELF!
The initial consultation provides you with the opportunity to share your current situation and concerns. To vent randomly if that is how you feel. A space to identify what you want to gain from therapy, ask any questions and for us to determine whether we may be a good match moving forward. It’s vital you choose a therapist who feels right for YOU.
A great deal of my experience includes supporting female and male survivors of abuse – emotional, physical and sexual (including incest). I have attended many workshops over the years on abuse related issues. In 2013, I founded an International Facebook support group for survivors of sexual abuse and incest.
